I am Osaid Aburidi, a 31-year-old professional with a solid academic background. I received my Bachelor's degree in the Arabic language and literature from An-Najah National University in 2014 and earned a Master's degree from the same institution in 2016. My Master's thesis, titled "Linguistic Research between “Mohammed Isaaf An-Nashashibi" and "Ishaq Musa Al-Husseini" A Study in (Originality and Contemporize)," was published in 2017.
Subsequently, I moved to Turkey and pursued a Ph.D. at Social Sciences Institute at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University in Istanbul, Turkey. My doctoral research, entitled "Acquisition of Arabic as a Second Language for Non-Native Speakers in the View of Neurolinguistics and Psycholinguistics," was completed in July 2022.
I am currently serving as a lecturer of Arabic as a foreign language and a member of the Examinations Unit in the Department of Foreign Languages at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University in Istanbul. Additionally, I have served as the Academic Director at the Shafak Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers in Istanbul (2019-2020), and as a Professor of Arabic Language and Literature at the Palestinian Ministry of Education (2013-2016).
Throughout my career, I have acquired a wealth of experience in teaching Arabic language and literature to a diverse group of students, including native, non-native, and heritage learners, at various levels of proficiency. My courses have covered reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, and media, and I have taught Modern Standard Arabic, Shami Colloquial Arabic, Arabic literature, and culture.
My primary research interest lies in the field of Arabic language acquisition, and my PhD dissertation provided an in-depth examination of the relationship between neurolinguistics and psycholinguistics and the acquisition and learning of Arabic as a second language. This study addressed the linguistic challenges faced by learners at the phonological, grammatical, and rhetorical levels and provided insights into the solutions from the perspective of neurolinguistics and psycholinguistics.
